Keep Area TEENS Safe (KATS) Program Director

Job Code: Program: Hillcrest House

Reports To: KATS Board FLSA Status: Exempt

Purpose of the Position
The KATS Program Director is responsible for directing the daily operations of Hillcrest House. Predominant duties include but are not limited to staff recruitment and supervision, fiscal management, outreach oversight, clinical programming, planning, regulatory compliance and survey readiness, community partner relations, and youth satisfaction.

Education and Experience Requirements Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Field, Psychiatric or Mental Health Nursing, or Licensure as a Professional Counselor, Clinical Social Worker or Therapist

  • 3 years of management experience preferably

  • 3 years of youth behavioral health experience suggested.

  • Ability to obtain CPR Certification

  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license and appropriate auto insurance coverage with access to the use of a personal vehicle

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in a Human Services field with experience in outpatient setting

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, planning, and supervising KATS Programs

  • Ensure optimal quality youth care within the framework of available personnel and resources including the development and execution of an annual Quality Assurance Plan including but not limited to Utilization Review process and program audit, and evaluation protocols

  • Interview, hire, orientate, evaluate, and develop staff for assigned programs

  • Develop an annual budget and monitor related financial performance on a daily basis to ensure programs operate within available resources

  • Monitor and manage related Organizational and Program Dashboard outcomes to target

  • Interface and proactively collaborate with youth, and employees on a daily basis to maintain harmonious relationships to ensure insight into the state of culture and quality

  • Participate in evaluation, diagnostic, treatment, evaluation, and discharge activities, along with other aspects of youth care on an as needed basis

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive community relations program to collaborate with community partners to ensure high quality services

  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulatory requirements and facility policies and procedures

  • Participate in specific program and organizational leadership meetings to coordinate the implementation of administrative, clinical, training, and educational decisions in the daily functioning of the program

  • Supervise the application of evidenced-based techniques to routine, complex and emergency youth situations

  • Monitor the performance of staff, including professional standards of practice

  • Mentor and teach program staff the skills necessary to provide the highest possible care

  • Be available for occasional off hours work and ability to provide presence in the facility in emergency situations

  • Perform other work-related tasks as required as assigned

  • Demonstrate organizational, leadership, management, clinical, department, program and job specific competencies

  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards along with federal, state, and local codes pertinent to role based on assigned programs

  • Analytical skills for interpreting health regulations and applying them in new policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of best practices in working with at-risk youth

  • Knowledge and practice of the principles and practice of effective supervision and leadership for teens at risk from being homeless

  • Working knowledge of the application of the principles of personnel administration in assigning, and supervising, and evaluating the activities of shelter staff

  • Good working knowledge of the legal system, as it pertains to mental health services, youth services and addiction services

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
